Illinois man claims ex-wife was abusive

An Illinois man recently exposed the details about his challenging divorce experience. The man explained that when he first met his ex-wife, a dancer, the two dated for a few months, then quickly got married. Everything went well for a while. All their friends thought they were perfect together. However, soon the marriage began to sour.

The man's ex-wife soon began to sabotage his relationships with his friends and family. She even began to turn violent. He claims that she threw boiling water at his face, attacked him with scissors and knives, and broke two of his ribs by kicking him. The dancer was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder during marriage counseling. Despite her abusive behavior, the lawyer's ex-wife was awarded a hefty spousal support settlement.

According to recent reports, the lawyer's ex-wife was awarded half of his life savings as well as generous financial support for two years after the divorce in order to maintain the standard of living she was accustomed to. The lawyer explained that he believed his ex-wife was able to get such a hefty settlement out of the divorce because his lawyer was "in lust" with her.

Alimony and spousal support can be some of the more contentious issues during a divorce. There are many factors that determine a person's legal obligation to provide financial support to their former spouse.Working with a skilled and ethical divorce attorney ensures that clients facing this situation understand their legal options and responsibilities.
