Our firm provides strong representation in the following areas of family law:
Divorce
A variety of issues need to be resolved in a divorce, including property division, complex property division, closely held business division, Qualified Domestic Relations Orders and spousal support/alimony.
Contested Divorce
When spouses are unable to reach an agreement on all divorce issues, this is called a contested divorce. Each party is usually represented by an attorney through litigation. This is often a lengthier divorce process.
Uncontested Divorce
An uncontested divorce allows parties to resolve their divorce matters in an efficient and cost-saving manner. This is becoming a more common method for divorcing spouses.
Child Custody & Visitation
This is often an emotional and contentious divorce issue. We can help you effectively resolve any child custody and visitation matters.
Child Support
Child support needs to be determined and many times modified after the divorce. Other issues include college expenses and how this affects child support payments.
Parentage/Paternity
We handle all types of parentage and paternity matters including adoption and determining the paternity of a child.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Many clients prefer to settle their disputes out of court. We offer three forms of alternative dispute resolution to clients who seek a cost-effective, timely means to settling their divorce-related problems:
Collaborative Law Attorneys
A team approach to getting a divorce done, often involving accountants, social workers, other experts, and two attorneys. The attorneys may agree not to file any papers in court during the process. These attorneys may not represent the parties if they decide to go to court.
Arbitration
Offering couples the option of settling their divorce matters out of court by working with an arbitrator, who makes a binding judgment on the case.
Divorce Mediation
Allowing couples to come to an agreement on divorce matters with the help of a third-party mediator. A mediator does not represent one party or the other.
